A body that does not correspond exactly to the space. Contours shift, transitions break off, individual parts detach from the figurative context. A net-like structure covers the surface of the skin, alluding to processes of recording and measurement. The body is not dissolved in the process, but is transformed into a state in which it appears comprehensible and visible, yet behaves dysfunctionally in its appearance from the outset and thus eludes clear classification. The tunnel, by contrast, is primarily functional as a symbolic depth of field and can be read as a clearly structured space, even if the architecture of light follows its own order. A shift between form and system, between appearance and classification – a state of permanent deviation.
