A body as a surface – black, closed off, segmented. The texture is reminiscent of digital rasters, of archived information or lost data. Only the eyes remain exposed – not staring out, but seeing. Algorithmic transparency is turned on its head. That which is being looked at simultaneously eludes the gaze. Opacity becomes a strategy of self-assertion.
